Takoma Park is informally known as the “Azalea City”.

I was driving through Takoma Park in early May and had to stop to take this photo — it was so beautiful. Takoma Park’s B.Y. Morrison is the horticulturalist famous for hybridizing the azaleas which made Takoma Park “Azalea City.” His azaleas are world famous.
