Silver Spring is both urban and suburban. Just north of Washington, DC, Silver Spring has its own Metro station on the Red Line. I grew up here, so it’s one of my favorite places in the area.
What’s available
Any buyer can find something to suit here. Within the same mile, you find charming restored farmhouses, bungalows, mansions and high rise apartment buildings.
A city with nightlife
The night life is hopping in downtown Silver Spring, and daytime living is fun too. Walk down the main street, Georgia Avenue. The aromas will lure you into tiny cafés and sizzling steak houses. Live music is a staple.
If you love movies like I do, you will appreciate the classics and indies at the famous American Film Institute (AFI) Silver Theatre. Where else can you see on the big screen “The Lady Eve” (1941). Con artist Barbara Stanwyk falls for mark Henry Fonda. Romance results. Johnny Depp movie marathons, sci-fi festivals and the classics play on this big screen throughout the year.
A livable suburb
More than $100 million is being invested to improve the Georgia Avenue corridor that leads into Silver Spring. This results in livable communities.
