39th Place in Glover Park, Washington, D.C.

Glover Park is among the best kept secrets in Washington, DC.

This gem between Georgetown and Woodley Park has streets lined with enclaves of pre-war buildings. Co-ops and condos begin in the 200’s and estates cost five million.

Cozy condos with space for a couch and dining room can go for less than $300,000. You can walk 10 minutes to Connecticut Avenue and the center of nightlife near the Calvert Street Bridge. Of you can walk 10 minutes in the other direction to Georgetown.

It seems every street ends at Rock Creek Park. Get on a bicycle, pack an overpriced sandwich from Balducci’s and ride. After five minutes, stop and listen to the birds. You cannot hear the sirens from Connecticut Ave, even though it’s just a few blocks away.
