College Park, MD

With 13,000 employees, the University of Maryland, College Park is by far the city’s largest employer.

College Park, MD is a college town, but it’s more than that.

I am a graduate of the University of Maryland, College Park and know this area well. The campus is one of the most beautiful college campuses in the US with its ivy-covered brick buildings, wide and shady walkways. It’s a welcome place to jog or walk your dog.

I’ve had many clients from the university community, including administrators, faculty members and graduate students.

Transportation

U.S. 1 is the major north-south route through College Park, and is the main street downtown.

Metro’s Green Line has the College Park-U of MD station. Also, MARC trains stop at a small station nearby.

College Park Airport

College Park Airport is the world’s oldest continuously operated airport. In 1909, Wilbur Wright began instructing military officers to fly in the government’s first aeroplane. Located at the airport is the College Park Aviation Museum. Opened in 1998, the museum is affiliated with the Smithsonian Institution. The museum displays antique and reproduction aircraft associated with the history of College Park Airport.

The future of College Park

RethinkCollegePark.net seeks to help transform College Park into a great college town with a vibrant downtown. The vision is a “walkable, inclusive, and dynamic city.”
